Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!
Dear parishioners, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ!
With great joy we would like to share with you our upcoming special event: the Centennial Celebration of the Orthodox witness in Western Massachusetts. Our parish was first formed at the end of 19th century but officially established in 1916. We are giving glory and thanksgiving to our Lord that, by His loving kindness and mercy, He protected our congregation through the difficulties and circumstances of the 20th century and continues to bless its journey toward the Heavenly Kingdom.
We will begin our official celebration of the 100th year of God’s bountiful mercy on Saturday, October 29, 2016 with Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 8:30am. There is no better way to celebrate the life of the parish than by being in the parish together with your brothers and sisters, hierarchs and pastors, and be united with each other through partaking of the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ on that day.
Please be on the lookout for more details about all the upcoming events and promptly make your reservations – bearing in mind that there is limited availability at some venues.
Among the events planned is a Centennial Dinner Gala Celebration. Enclosed you will find a form to complete so that you and your family can be recognized in the 100th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet, which we are creating for this event. You can purchase either a quarter, half, or full-page advertisement to express your well wishes to the long lasting Orthodox Community as part of this historical milestone. These booklets will be distributed at the Dinner Gala so make your reservations by August 31, 2016.
Thank you in advance for supporting and honoring this special event of the St. Peter and St. Paul Orthodox Church in Springfield, Massachusetts. May our continuing commitment for Christ bring a bright future full of hope and love.
With love in Christ,
Rev. Michael Korolev,
Rector of St. Peter and St. Paul Orthodox Church
